Foyer Foundation unlocks futures for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. They do this by growing the reach and impact of Youth Foyers. Foyers offer a safe and stable place for young people to live for up to two years, integrating housing, education, employment and life skills support.
Foyer Foundation CEO, Liz Cameron-Smith reached out to Leadership Space at a point where she could see there was some serious momentum starting to build. The organisation had a visionary strategic plan, strong partners, and a small smart team. To meet the size of the potential, Liz knew she needed to rapidly grow the team and broaden the team’s capabilities.
Liz and Elise partnered to shape an evolving body of work that engaged the whole staff team in operationalizing the strategy in sprints, and strengthened and aligned the team, culture and structure.
Over the course of about 9 months, the team designed new ways of working together, developed their organisational values, deepened cohesion and aligned around what great leadership looked like at Foyer. As the staff structure become more sustainable, Liz forged new ground by testing and then introducing a new co-leadership model, with Corin Moffatt joining the team as Co-CEO.
As Foyer Foundation goes on to fulfil its potential, it does so on the foundations of having strengthened its operational planning, structure, culture and leadership sustainability.
